The Value of Primordial Prevention in the Obesity Epidemic and Related Comorbidities

Despite an overall increase in public health awareness, the prevalence of obesity remains epidemically high. Worldwide, over half a billion people are currently cůĂƐƐŝĮĞĚ as obese (body mass index [BMI] ≥ 30 kg/m2), and it is ĞƐƟmĂƚĞĚ that over 40% of the U.S ƉŽƉƵůĂƟŽn will be obese by the year 2030.
